Proper Cleaning of Ski Goggles

The important part of any skiers’ equipment is the ski goggles. It is necessary to take care of the ski goggles to make them last longer and it doesn’t need any special tools before you properly clean them.

One important thing you should also consider is purchasing ski goggles from a reliable manufacturer in order to have the best product that is worth your hard-earned money.

The following five steps can help guide you through your daily cleaning of goggles.

Step one: Always keep your goggle in your storage bag.

Every goggle bought at REANSON you will always get a storage bag with it. Those wonderful ski goggles need to be kept safe from damages or scratch and it’s necessary to keep them properly when not being used.

Step two: Technical points for cleaning the outer lens.

Your vision can be easily tampered with when it is raining, snowing or during the ice. All you need to do when it happens is very simple and not special. Once it stops raining or snowing you need to shake it and wait until it dries off naturally, then you can easily wipe the goggle lens with the storage bag or linen cloth.

Note: if the ice is still on the lens, you will have to warm it up before you can clean the lens properly. You can either heat it with your jacket or breathe on it. Otherwise, the lens will be scratched.

Don’t attempt to wipe the goggles with rag or gloves because those materials rub off the reflective lens coating or scratch it in a situation such as snow made up of ice crystals always with dirt particles harmful to the lens.

Step three: Give adequate focus on the inner lens.

The inner lens is cleaned differently because most manufacturers use an anti-fog coating on the lens which can easily be destroyed by any wiping method. It’s best that you keep the anti-fog coating layer where it belongs.

Hence dust or snow might find its way inside the lens, you must first shake the snow off and wait till it dries off. If you wipe off the lens because of the moisture you will wipe off its anti-fog coating.

Step four: Always put a spare pair in your storage bag.

Putting a spare pair of goggles in your storage bag on a slope will be a very good idea not because of weather conditions.

However, if you fall and get ice in your ski goggles you can easily replace it with the spare inside your bag and continue your skiing adventure while you dry off the other wet one.

Step five: Getting quality ski goggles last longer.

Proper cleaning of the ski goggles makes it last longer even for more than one season.

However, considering the quality of the brands and goggles itself is quite important. High-quality lenses will work perfectly during your skiing process, while low-quality lenses cannot last longer during your skiing journey.
